Hey guys, this one is going to be a bit of a cop out for me as I am very short on time (Appointment this afternoon) but wanted to get something up before the weekend…
In all honesty it would have been a boring one for most anyway as recent events for me have been all about a vacation/family reunion down in Tennessee & Georgia, some projects around the house and other non-fishing related topics. (Some of that has been on my social media and maybe I’ll include some in the next report with more time.)
The big news that is probably old news for most of you by now anyway is that the Hexes have been popping here on the river for a little while now. Apparently, there’s a cold snap coming early next week that may slow it down or stall it a bit and maybe even some much-needed rain, but that remains to be seen. Water is low and clear at the moment…
I’ve been out a few times with friends and one trip the other night that was successful, but I neglected to get the photos from that one from the client before they left…. Oh well, you’ve seen plenty of fish!
There’s still a few drakes among others popping also, but for the most part the fish are keyed in on the evening/nighttime bite. A few other friends have been mousing with some really nice success in areas that don’t get as much of a hex hatch and the fish in prime hex areas seeing plenty of traffic already but aren’t completely wise yet.
Not to say you that can’t pick up some nice fish in the daylight because that is always possible, but most of what we’ve encountered until dusk/dark are just the little fellows you’d expect that keep it interesting on the way down.
Anyway, shop hours remain the same, 8am to 6pm, we’ve got all the goods you’ll need or want to get out there and have some fun and we have a guide or guides available on most nights yet so, if you’d like to go that route, we’d love to have you. (231) 745-3529 Let’s go!!! (I still have Sunday & Monday right now, next one is next Friday…)
Gotta go now, sorry for being so brief, more detail in the next one I promise!
