I want to thank everyone that participated in our Spring River Clean-Up and few weeks ago!!! We had a great turn out and picked up tons of trash. The river is a much better place thanks to your efforts!!!! Thank you!!!
It certainly feels like trout season!!! June is creeping around the corner, bugs are hatching and the trout are looking up. It has been a good time being on the river late and dry fly fishing again. We have a mixed bag of bugs hatching currently…Gray Drakes, Black Quills, Iso’s, Sulphurs and Yellow Sallies. Plus, some big stones bouncing down the river at times too. It seems like we are little ahead of the “normal” hatch schedule? Stay tuned…
We have guides and lodging available, so give us a call to book a float trip…231-745-3529. Late May and June are the best for dry fly fishing in northern Michigan…Gray Drakes, Hexes, mousing, hunting Damsel eats…got your guide dates set???? There is only so much time before the summer slips away! We will be out there!!!
Fishing dry flies is on my schedule until the next good rain event. Don’t be afraid to prospect with attractors patterns down bubble lines, tight to the banks and along the lumber. The banks are coming alive! Not to mention the after dark opportunities throughout the rest of the summer.
The shop is loaded up with all your fishing needs. Please stop in to grab a couple flies and get a river report. Enjoy the solitude of sitting on a trout stream waiting for bugs and rising trout! Good luck out there! Gotta run and get ready for todays guide trip…see ya!
Later,
John
