Hey guys,

I’m still alive! I have a couple of announcements to toss out here and the “fishing report” portion of this will be rather short as I have not spent all that much time on the water recently, but yesterday was fun with Rob and his son George…

Slow going for us in low clear and quiet conditions, but we managed to bring a nice late season Coho to hand as well as a trout and a few other missed bites. The two other boats in our section reported about the same except substitute our Coho for a Steelhead!

By most accounts recently there have been a few good days here and there when the bite really turned on, but mostly it’s working hard for a hookup or a few and having fun enjoying nature since the water came back down and cleared up again.

I’ve been spending time with friends, family and in the woods for the most part. Took one doe for the freezer and plan to hunt thru the end of the month and maybe take one more…

The first announcement you probably already know about from John’s report, but back by popular demand, we are offering our Holiday Special (until December 24, 2018) of 20% off Gift Certificates!!!! These gift certificates are good at face value for any and all shop merchandise or lodging, but not guide trips or discounted items. Call the shop to have one mailed to your door! 231-745-3529 Our winter shop hours are now 9am – 5pm Wednesday thru Monday, CLOSED on Tuesdays.

Secondly, we purchased another Pere Marquette River guide business some time back and are now accepting applications for a full time guide position here at BBT. Applicants must have own boat, equipment (Lots of pro staff deals available) and insurance, we provide the proper use permits and bookings!

This offer goes out to any and all established guides in the area as well as any motivated up and coming new blood. For now, to apply, either drop off a resume to the shop during regular business hours or email your resume to: [email protected] with “Guide Position” in the subject line. John and I will get back to you as soon as we can, but keep in mind that we will be in South America for much of January…

Outside of that I just want to take a minute to wish you all a safe and wonderful holiday season! Till next time, tight lines!

Steve
