Norm with a stud on a dry fly!!!

I have been procrastinating a new report; hoping to share some good news.  Well, I got nothing!  It rained another inch on Tuesday and the river is up.  The river was “healing” nicely Monday and Tuesday, but on the rise right now.  It should crest and start dropping tomorrow (if we don’t get any more rain?).  It has been a very wet and cool season for us. The mosquitos have been thick…pack bug spray or a thermacell.

Dave fooled this sturdy brown on a tan streamer

The fishing has been decent.  Mostly with streamers or big attractor bugs skittered on the surface.  No, significant hexes yet and the drakes have even been very spotty with the cooler evening temps.  Trust me, this is not what I want to tell you…but, that’s how it is!

We have been catching some very nice fish, but working harder then normal.  Both streamers and dries have hooked some trophy fish over the past week in my boat.  Yellow, tan and olive have been the best color streamers, but black and white are good in dark water.  Large attractor bugs and stimulators have generated some explosive strikes too!  The fish are thriving and very, very healthy with the higher flows.  Keep your fingers crossed and maybe we will start seeing some hex in a few days?  I will keep you posted…

Steve had a exciting day of tossing streamers

Sorry to be brief…I have been very busy and have some flies to tie before todays trip.  Thank you all who have been keeping me busy!!!  It is appreciated very much.  Please swing in the shop for up to the minute info and to grab your fishing supplies.  Good luck out there and please be safe!!!
