Released to make the babies!

If by chance you find yourself unable to attend our own little show this weekend (One fully stocked shop in Baldwin and a river with plenty of fish to test your equipment in! ;^) I do recommend that you attend the one in Warren. It’s always a great time with tons of cool vendors, seminars, fly tying and the like. And hey, while you’re are there maybe try to put a bug in someone’s ear to try and move it back a little if possible!!! We would love to be able to participate again…

Jack with one that didn’t get away!

All that being said, we are in full swing! I had a few days that didn’t fill this past week (Well, one that did, but then the unnamed culprits over served themselves and it didn’t happen… Opps!) and I still have this Sunday open for anyone wanting to attend this show, but other than that my next open day for the peak of the spring is April 10th. Steelhead fishing usually remains good thru the end of April and trout fishing picks up steam as well, my book is fairly open from the 15th on with just a few scattered trips. (Call the shop for other great guide openings and motel rooms! 231-745-3529) By the way, mark your calendar! We will be hosting the PM River Cleanup on April 21st this year. Details to follow…

John had the hot hand on our group trip Friday when it came to landing.

I took Saturday off as usual, (The one day of the week I block for peace of mind and rest during the peak these days.) but then picked up the trip for Sunday (that fell thru) and wound up just getting some chores done Sunday and Monday instead.

But Justin got in on the action during a hilarious double that caused us to pull anchor from a deep hole and take chase for the double dipper… Wish we had that one on film!

A closer look at John’s buck from the double. That was one pretty fish and amazing that we got it out of the situation(s) it put us in!

Tuesday found me out on the water with Jake from the shop. We had tried to take a friend of mine along as well, Adam, a fellow veteran who is struggling with some war related health issues, but he was not feeling up to it again unfortunately. (Tried on Monday also.) Send out some good vibes to this guy if you would, he’s done a lot for us and continues to do a lot for fellow vets…

First to hand. Didn’t catch her while spawning, but she obviously has been along with some others already.

This little dude was a full on battle and he thought he was bigger! ;^)

Jake and I didn’t fish a full day, but it was a fun day and we found plenty of action. Really nice to spend some quality time with a guy who’s done so much for myself and my wife Karen personally besides just being a great employee and all around great guy!

A couple of several trout Jake caught .

A solid Buck for Jake to hand...

…and this pretty girl to finish my day!

Don’t have a whole lot more to add. It’s hard to believe that I was in short sleeves a couple of days about a week ago or that I’ve had my Harley out once in February and once in March already judging by the current weather, but that’s a good thing! I’m all for solid fishing in March, but we don’t want it too warm too quick either… I’ve seen water temps all the way to 44 one day, but for the most part its holding in the mid to upper 30s for the moment, level is normal and clarity is good!

Cheers to a great spring!

That’s all I’ve got for now so, till next time, tight lines!
