Happy Belated New Year and all that! (I hope you enjoyed the holidays and are surviving this brutal winter! 😲) It’s been wayyyyy longer than a little while since I’ve posted here and I’m sorry to disappoint, but this still isn’t “much” of a river or fishing report… I’ve been pretty busy on my Facebook page however and posting some good old fish pics daily! Click here to follow me there. 😎

Truth be told, I’ve only been out once in recent memory and that was on January 8th just after we got a thaw and some decent rain that put enough water into the system to actually float the fly water without scraping bottom all over the place for a change.

As to the fishing that day, we stripped streamers primarily and that was fairly slow for us. I got skunked, 🤣 but John and Charlie each caught a trout on the day so as a whole it wasn’t a total loss on a rare warm and beautiful day!

Hindsight (and friends as well as the internet) tells us that we probably should have floated further down and targeted Steelies that particular day, but we were just too excited about having enough water to go up high for a change and truly fly fish.

There actually is a good number of fish in the system, but word on the street is that those numbers increase as you go further down. Anyway, never a loss if you can get out, but that is currently virtually impossible thru most of the river unless you want to drill a hole… 😳😁😎

I’m mostly putting this post out just to let you know that my current boat (Shown here) will be available for purchase sometime in the next 2-3 weeks or so from Stealthcraft.

I can’t remember who all asked me about it, but I know I’ve had at least a half dozen of you or more that did… (I really should make a note in my phone and add people to it that are interested in buying my last one when I get the next one.)

My next boat will be my third from Stealthcraft. (I’ve been on the every 5 years plan.) Originally, I had planned to change them out more often, but I loved each one of them so much and they hold up so well there’s really been no “need” to change out at all other than just the shiny new factor and a different veil!

Hell, Kam is still rowing my original boat from 10 years ago right now all thru the busy guide seasons and other than a scratch here and there I’m sure it’s just as good as it was new! 🤷♂️😎👍

Anyway, most of these pics are from when she was new and it remains a solid boat but definitely has some signs of use these days. Some scratches and a spiderweb in the clear coat here and there, nothing functional or structural.

The old boat is loaded! (As will be the new.) It’s got David Ruimveld artwork inside and out, front and rear power anchors, red, white & blue interior lights, running lights w/rear post, bbt hex lights, headlights, wall to wall spaghetti mats, dual tackle trays w/four rod holders under each and one on top of each, bbt expanded front box and a great sound system w/bluetooth. (I’m sure I’m missing something… 🤔🤷♂️🤣)

I’m not certain if Mike plans to refurbish it at all with some buffing or whatever or just sell it as is so I won’t venture a guess as to what he’ll be asking. You’ll need to contact Stealthcraft for that number, but I am certain it’ll be a great deal for someone, and I look forward to seeing it around for many years to come! (231) 206-4056

We still have some great spring dates available for guides and motel rooms if you want to check on those and the shop is open daily from 9am – 5pm! (231) 745-3529

That’s about all I’ve got for ya right now. I’ll be continuing to post on “the book” daily if you care to give me a follow there, but otherwise I’ll jump back on here just as soon as I’ve got some decent news to share!

Stay warm and be safe. My best wishes to all of you… 😎❤️❄️🎣
