Hey guys, long time! Sorry about that, but if you’ve been following our (My personal and BBT’s) social media accounts you’ll see that I have been posting some…

John and I had a great couple of days with Nate, Tom, Bruce and Terry downriver “pitching sticks”!

Truth be told John has really been on top of posting to our website and has it pretty much covered as to what’s going on! Between that, the recent tragedy that affected me much more than I ever expected, working just about every day and a bad toothache I had to deal with for a while before I could get something done, I’ve just put this off a while.

Jeff and I had a much slower day than the last visit a week or so prior on this day of pitching but still managed to have a blast per usual!
Pretty good action with Craig and Jeff doing the same the next day…

Honestly, there’s not much to add to what John said in his last report right now other than the fact that the fish have most certainly decided to come home, and we’ve been seeing some pretty impressive pushes of fish in the middle and lower river here lately!

The “Marek Group” is always a great time!

Nice bonus fish!

I haven’t been in the upper portions of the river at all so I can’t speak to it with any authority, but if I’m judging from my social media feeds, I’d have to say it’s picked up quite a bit now up there also. That being said, I can only imagine how low and clear it must be… A little more rain around here wouldn’t hurt anyone’s feelings!

Paul & Ed had an action-packed day fighting plenty of fish in tight quarters! The few we landed were a minor miracle…

Stuart put on a pretty good show while sharing a spot with John R’s father and son team!

Traffic was heavy to say the least on this day and we had a hard time finding a decent spot to stop, but a very woody area wound up producing for Alexis, Phill & I to save the day…

I managed to take this past Monday off and have that tooth taken care of (Removed truth be told! 😲) so I was feeling much better by Tuesday when Patrick and Keith join me for some downriver stick pitching! Word on the street was that the fish had been pushing thru down there in great numbers for a few days and that turned out to be the case for us.

I can be very hard to get these guys to take a lure when they’re really on the move, but Patrick had a hot hand getting crushed on the regular and we finished off the day with a spectacular double dipper! 👍😎👊

Based on that success and the amount of fish moving I found two in our group of three (previously four) boats that wanted to give it a shot down there again on Wednesday… Both anglers were successful, but our boats mid river did much better. (Still plenty of fish moving down there, the bite was just slower.)

Big shout out to Scott and Jeff for giving it a shot!

One of the anglers in our four-boat group for Wednesday and Thursday (today) had to bail out for some family reasons, so we restructured for him and Kam volunteered to take Wednesday off, me today… (I am now off until Sunday having blocked tomorrow and Saturday per usual some time back! 😎)

Speaking of days off… Also, “per usual” I have blocked off the week of October 15th to October 22nd, but I have already made one exception in the middle there… I do this every year because by that time I no longer wish to have anglers longingly looking at all the spawning salmon I prefer not to fish for, and I can usually stay in the pools until then but possibly even longer this year. (Most years there are enough Steelhead entering the system by then to target instead also.)

Anyway… If you are one of my “regulars” and would like to fish during that time. Feel free to contact me directly and we’ll see what we can do! I usually like to just take a break, goof off and hunt early Steelies on my own or with friends during that time but I lost so many trips to warm water this summer I find that idea to be a little irresponsible this year… 🙄🤷‍♂️🤣

Not much more to tell, we do still have some great steelhead dates as well as motel room openings, the shop is well stocked, and everyone is having fun as far as I can tell. Please stop in and see us if you get a chance or spend a quality day on the water with one of our guides. This coming July 4th will mark 30 years in businesses for us, and we not only appreciated your support, but we also enjoy serving you as well as the river as best we can! (231) 745-3529 7am – 7pm daily. 😎

Be safe, have fun and enjoy! -Steve-
