Shop Hours 8am – 6pm Daily
Sorry for the big lapse in reports. We are still alive and preparing for a great fall! It has been a tough summer with low water levels and high water temps. It appears we are good with water temps now, but we REALLY need some rain. The entire river is extremely low…it is even tough to float the upper river right now.
HELP WANTED
Join the BBT Team….We are looking for “Seasonal Shop Staff”. Responsibilities include (but are not limited too) quality customer service, answering phone calls, providing fishing reports, knowledge of the area/river, operating the POS system (register), booking reservations and (most importantly) being a good person. If you are interested in applying please contact the shop directly to fill out an application…231-745-3529. We are excited to expand the team!!!

This summer is flying bye and we are already in the NFL pre-season…fall is right around the corner. The shop is loading up with all the fishing supplies you will need (or just want) for this fall. Flies, beads, spinners, plugs, tying materials, waders, clothing, terminal tackle and rods & reels…swing in and check out our inventory!
The guides fall schedules are filling up, but we still have some great early dates for lower river hardware trips. Plus, the Motel still has some prime dates available…give us a call to check on dates – 231-745-3529. Not to mention, it’s not too late for some trout fishing!!! Especially before the kids go back to school…give us a call!

We had to cancel several guide trips this summer due to high water temps (if its 68 or warmer we re-schedule or cancel). We, once again, want to apologize to all the clients that missed out on their fishing trips this summer. Plus, we want to thank everyone that cared enough, not to fish during those periods, to protect our resource. We are in the clear now, but this summer was difficult throughout the whole state for trout fishermen. I hope this is not a new trend?
We still have plenty of time to do some trout fishing, but fall fishing is on most anglers minds. The charter boats are doing well on the big lake and soon enough we’ll be chasing salmon & steelhead in the river. Early season is a great time to avoid crowds and find some powerful fish. I got lots on my plate between now and then, but it’s not that far off.
Stay tuned for more “fishing reports” in the next couple weeks. After our AK trip, we will be posting weekly updates again…looking forward to it for sure!!!
Thanks!
John
