Shop Hours are 8am to 6pm Daily

We will be hosting our annual Fall River Clean-Up this Saturday (October 21).  We will be meeting at the shop at 8am to figure our float/boat assignments.  There is always open seats in boats, so all volunteers are welcome.  We will provide the trash bags, cover the cost of the car shuttles and host an appreciation dinner at 6pm (next door to the Shop in Steve’s pole barn).  Please call the shop to sign-up, so we can plan accordingly for dinner.  Hope to see you there!!!

We are wrapping up our salmon season obligations and turning the page to start targeting steelhead.  There are still plenty of fresh kings to play with and a “mixed bag” type float will be an option as well.  We finally got a decent couple rain events and bumped the river level up throughout the system.  Perfect timing to flush out the old and bring in the new and get eggs rolling down stream.  There is a ton of eggs tumbling down the river right now.

Our fall steelhead booking are filling in nicely, but we still have availability…give the shop a call to book a guide and/or lodging…231-745-3529.  We are really looking forward to our fall steelhead hunt!  The last couple rainy and cold mornings get you thinking steelhead season is very close!  We have been seeing a couple here and there, but the kings have been pushing them around and there are tons of real eggs.  It is setting up for a good fall!  As I have stated many times; we do it all…fly fishing, Floats & Beads, hardware and/or a mixed bag.

We had a great salmon season and thanks again to all our guests and customers!  I am going to keep this brief, because I am worn out.  Stay tuned for more of a detailed steelhead fishing report in the future.  Stick to egg patterns & nuke eggs in natural tones behind spawning kings and/or runs below the big gravel flats.  Beads in 8mm to 12mm in the same color spectrum…Just a friendly reminder “Beads” are NOT legal in the “Fly Water”…thank you!

Here’s a couple shots from last week…thanks & it was a lot of fun!!!

Good luck out there!!!  Enjoy what we have and please do what you can to preserve and protect it!

Later,
