Fall Shop Hours 7am – 7pm
We are running at full throttle now chasing kings! The whole crew is back guiding (except Donnie…he’ll be back in late October for steelhead). The shop is packed and we are looking forward to a great fall season!!! We had a very busy weekend at the shop…THANK YOU!!!
The rain I mentioned in my last report “did the trick”. This time last week we witnessed a couple impressive migrations of kings in the lower river. There are fish throughout the entire system at this point in time. Don’t get me wrong…the river is NOT loaded top to bottom. There are certainly voids in the river, so don’t be afraid to cover some water and scout. Lots of hot…VERY HOT fish last week and it was a blast!
It really is starting to feel like fall around here. There are fish in the river, college football started over the weekend and the kids are back in school. We are ready and it feels good to be chasing the big fish again! We still have a few openings for guide trips and lodging…give us a call to make a reservation 231-745-3529. My current open dates are: October 4, 10, 11, 13 & 14. Plus, it is not too early to start planning your fall steelhead trips…our books are filling up for Late October – November.
I have been mixing it up lately tossing both flies and hardware. Got a very busy rest of the month and looking forward to catch a bunch of fish while catching up with long time clients. It has been great to see so many clients and friends around the last week. I had an awesome weekend with friends and family catching fish with the next generation. Always special to see the look in a kids eye when they are battling a big fish…price-less!!!
Sorry to be brief, but I gotta run! Good luck, have fun and enjoy the resource! Please practice catch and release on our wild hens! They have to spawn before they die…that’s their next generation.
