This is going to be short and sweet. The magical month of June is happening!!! The river is low and clear, but running warm in the lower sections. Gray Drakes, Damsels, Yellow Sallies, Big Stones, Iso’s and hexes are going to start hatching heavy any day! Excellent time to be a trout fisher in northern Michigan. I am having a great time and enjoying burning the candle at both ends right now. With that being said, I do not have much time to report..Have to get ready for a guide trip. I am giving the hex water a couple days off during the recent heat wave, but after tonight it should be back to fishable water temps for catch and release. Please try to keep an eye on the water temperature in the section you plan on fishing. Please be responsible if you plan on releasing your fish. There are three water monitoring stations-

Day or night right now has great potential! Bouncing big attractors durning the day and/or hexing and mousing after dark. The hatch should gain moment and be in full swing over the weekend. Good luck out there…enjoy the resource and please respect your fellow angler.
