Our shop hours will be changing from 7am to 7pm daily to 8am to 6pm daily on Sunday the 18th.

Also, our annual Fall PM River Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday the 24th, please save the date and join us; more details to follow, but it would be helpful for dinner planning purposes to have an idea of attendance. Please call the shop to let them know how many people you’ll have!! Looking forward to the fellowship and gaining some good river karma with you all then..

One of my favorite fall fish face photos! We are switching gears…
Noah, a sometimes client and always friend, caught this beauty out on his own this past Friday! Nice one buddy, thanks for the pic…

Well, tomorrow is traditionally the end of my official “salmon season”, but with so many Kings and a few Coho still around I imagine we’ll be playing with a few for a while yet even though the primary target has switched over to Steelhead in my book.

John caught this nice Coho while fishing with Kam the other day and we’ve been seeing a few more…
Greg’s first Salmon outing was a big success and I’m looking forward to a repeat next year already… Here’s a few of the ones he got!

Believe it or not, some new Kings continue to enter the system even now along with our first real wave of chrome. The sheer amount of Salmon that came in late this year was impressive to say the very least and the amount of spawning fish (That I still haven’t had to mess with outside of that one time so far.) throughout the river is a spectacular sight to see.

Hit lots of fish with Andy and Martin, but stayed to busy for photos! (Did take one of each… ;^)

You’ll see me hunting in and around those redds that I’ve been avoiding all season fairly often now as we are spotting Steelhead amongst them (As well as some nice trout of course) and in the runs/pools/pocket water below. Also, the transition has occurred for the most part and many of the nicer Salmon that are left or are still arriving are now going directly to it rather than pooling up in big numbers at this point.

Matt and Wes put a hurt on ’em also! Here’s a few of theirs…

With so much natural food in the system proper presentation and an eye catching pattern will be the key to success on those feeding fish, but recent rains should help to clear some of that food and a few older kings out. I was off yesterday for a dentist appointment and took today off just in case I needed it, but word from the river today was a few inches up and a “nice” color right now.

Tony (Shown here) and Tom put a beat down on ’em this day, but it was all over before we realized we hadn’t taken any shots of Tom’s! Oppps…

Looks like we have cooler weather and some more rain in the forecast so it’s shaping up well for a great fall Steelhead season! I believe that if you put your mind to it and stuck with the program of only seeking silver you could make a decent day of it right now and I’m looking forward to finding out real soon. One, (maybe 2) more Salmon trips to go and it’s game time for me…

We had an awesome time as always with Gary, Ernie, Randy and Randal!

My next available open days are currently October 18, 19, 20, 22, 29, 30 & 31. November is filling in a bit faster now, but I still have prime dates available then also as well as our other guides. Call the shop to check on Motel or Guide dates; we’d love to have ya!! 231-745-3529

Got into some nice Kings on Monday again, but only took pics of this fish that Kyle caught and another like it that John K will share in his next report myself…

Loving this fall weather and color!

As John mentioned in his last report and so did I… Please forgive us our inventory issues this fall. the supply chain has been interupted, but we do still have some cool stuff to offer and are starting to get fill ins on some items we’ve had trouble with. We can’t thank you enough for your support in our boats, motel and shop; it means the world to us and we simply don’t exist without you.

Thanks for a great fall so far and your continued support!!! Look forward to seeing you soon…

Steve
