[CONTINUED FROM THE FRONT PAGE]

In short, we've recently had a couple of perfectly timed high water events that are basically assuring us a great fall already! The strong flows in the late fall do a number of great things, but among the most important is the flushing out of carcasses and eggs sending sent out into the lake for Steelhead to follow up and better water flows that make that accent much easier for those Steelhead coming into the river to feed.

Like John, I haven't had a whole lot to report lately with the lapse in the fishing and fishing clients between "seasons", but that is all about to change with or without paying customers in the boat now because fellas, it's game on starting right now! The water in the upper river is still up a bit, but otherwise absolutely perfect as of today. John, Jory and I did a very quick float and poked a few small browns on Streamers as well as one small to medium sized Steelhead in just a few short hours and the few other anglers we spoke with were having success hooking Steelhead as well.

Jory with a small Brown that fell for a Streamer today...

...and here's a bright little girl that couldn't resist my chartreuse egg on the C&D rig presentation.

With the way the water is falling I'd say it'll probably be in good wading shape even down by Maple Leaf within the next day or so, but clarity is good either way so you shouldn't get in trouble... Eggs in a little larger sizes and brighter colors will be key for a while, but bigger nymphs or swinging a nice flashy Streamer could get the job done as well.

We're not stuck on just one or two techniques here at BBT and we've got some really great openings to fill if anyone's interested. (Open dates listed below.) C&D is tried, true and effective just as well as floating lines and indicators... Want to swing or strip Streamers? Just let us know! Heck, I'm thinking of offering a cast and blast option where we take a shotgun or rifle during the deer season and just pitch spinners and hot-n-tots on spinning rigs along the way while we look for a buck in some of the lesser used sections of river! Anyone interested?

I also want to take a minute to thank everyone that showed up to do your part in the river cleanup this past Saturday. A little lighter turn out than usual with the holiday, but we wound up with a total of around 25 people who picked up a lot of trash! I appreciate it, I'm sure that every other responsible river user appreciates it and I know for a fact that the river appreciates it from the bottom of her deepest pool! We make a BIG difference, every time...

The "on time" group...

...and Alex and Kyle the "stragglers" that made it! ;^)

Check out the Fox that Carrie-Joe, Tom my wife Karen and I spotted while cleaning between Sulak and Upper...

In the non-fishing related category I've been doing a fair amount, but one of the more pleasant experiences recently was spending this past Sunday after the cleanup with my family including my Grandson Baile' who we watched get tested for his Yellow belt in Taek Wondo with a nice banquet afterward. Most of you that have followed my ramblings for any amount of time have seen him grow up a little with a Steelhead here, a salmon there, a few trout etc, but it's been a while and he's growing like a weed!

Nice Job Baile'!

I've got to cut this short now and get ready for pool league, but I'll be out on the river with a visiting cousin tomorrow and will most likely hit the river just about every day after that either for fun or with clients... The days I am "booked" in November are the 7th, 12th, 14th, 15th, 19th & 20th leaving all other dates open to book! John's "booked" days are the 6th, 7th, 10th, 12th, 14th, 17th, 18th, 20th & 22nd leaving all other dates open to book as well...

We still have some spots open for Argentina, the Bahamas and Alaska 2010, give us a call to inquire. 1-877-422-5394

Tight lines all,
Steve
